Winter Development Training

Weekly age specific skills training will be held at our INDOOR FACILITY the Puma FC Manhattan Player Development Centre. The training programs offered are run by the Puma FC - Manhattan coaching staff and will feature guest coaches.

TECHNIQUES COVERED

Soccer ABC
 – Players will improve their Agility, Balance and Coordination.
Dribbling
 – improve the ability to change direction and move at speed.
Moves
 – master more than 20 different ways to turn and fake opponents.
Passing
 – improve accuracy, pace and 1st touch control.
Shooting
 – improve power and placement with each foot.
Tackling/Defending
 – improve your tackling skills and learn how to defend.

WINTER Puma FC Player Development Program

The purpose of the Puma FC PDP is to provide top level training for players with specific technical training to aid their overall development. PDP is not design as a replacement for team practices but as an additional training. During team practices, the priority is placed on tactical functions of team play, where as the Player Development Program is designed to meet players’ individual needs and to further develop their overall soccer development.


Player Centered

Training within PDP is specifically player-centered with SMART goals established by the coach, with influence from the player and the player’s families. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time Bound. Topics include but are not limited to dribbling, passing, finishing, 1v1 attacking,1v1 defending, change of direction, and speed of play.


There will also be a goalkeeper specific development program, where goalkeepers will work on Goalkeeper Footwork, Goalkeeper Catching Drills, Diving, Extensions & Reaction Saves, Goalkeeper Distribution, Goalkeeper Communication and Preparing The Goalkeeper's Mentality.
